I've been coming here way too much these days đ First of all their wine is very good, and all of the wine curators and the chef are nice and they have their own kitchen for hot and cold food! Recommend the provisional tasting course which lets you taste a broader selection of their wines đđ» âŠ
I have been a club member here for a few years. I love their wines and it is true joy to visit there for tasting. Their building is nice and the grounds are gorgeous. Itâs so nice in the summer have some sips outside. When it gets cold they have ample heat towers to keep you warm. You can choose to stay inside too. Good thing with this winery is that they have kitchen and serves warm food for pairing!! Cheese board is fine they incorporate food sauced from local growers. The staff are all so nice and knowledgeable. If you are looking for wine tasting place in Yamhill Carlton AVA, I highly recommend to visit Soter Vineyards.
Really great experience. They were so accommodating when we couldn't make our reservation and got us scheduled the next day. We arrived and were greeted outside with a rosé, the first of our tasting. We did the classic tasting and walked down to the smaller cabin that was warm and cozy. Jeff was so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much about how each of the wines we tasted were made and just about Soter in general. I couldn't recommend them more. Absolutely a must when you're in or near Newberg.
We booked a reservation for 2 online and paid a $20 deposit prior to our visit. When we arrived we were told that the tasting cost $35 per person. One tasting fee was supposedly waived if you buy 2 bottles of wine. The experience was fine but we didnât buy any wines to take home because we found out that only $35 would be refunded because there was a nonrefundable $10 deposit fee so the $20 fee we paid prior were not credited towards our tasting and/or purchase. The hostess said the fee is due to people cancelling but I suggest they rethink this policy - they already have a 48-hour cancellation fee so theyâre just trying to squeeze money out of you. We showed up to the tasting so why not refund the entire $20 fee or apply it towards our final bill?
This tasting experience was far and away better than anything weâve experienced elsewhere in the region. We did the âClassicâ and had an amazing personalized session in one of their cabins that allowed us to ask questions and actually learn! My partner and I recently got engaged and our guide, Tony, even surprised us with a quick toast. She went the extra mile to teach us about the region, the founders, the wine, and gave us awesome tips and tricks. Canât say enough good things about Tony â she is a gem and so good at what she does. We became members off of the experience (but there was zero pressure to do so). Thanks, Soter!

The culinary program here is remarkable. You can go for a standard tasting and order from a small pantry menu. This menu is much more then just charcuteries (which they have too), great option for lunch.
They also offer a Provisions tasting which is multi courses all sourced from their biodynamic farm. The quality of ingredients is wonderful and rotates seasonally.
There sparkling brute rose is one of my favorites. Post tasting you can see stunning 360 views of the valley. Soter is some special for sure.
An unbelievable tasting experience! Once our group arrived, we were greeting at the door with a glass of wine, which actually turned out to be the first wine on the tasting menu. We were then shown to our tasting area which was one of the individual cabins a 100 yards or so away from the main common area. The tasting cabin was incredible and had amazing views! David provided an amazing tasting experience as we went down the tasting list, he even had Frank Sinatra playing in the background. Their white wines were crisp and refreshing while their reds were full of flavor unique in taste. After concluding our tasting, we were shown back to the common area as our host was gracious enough to let us all try some of their sparkling wine, which wasnât on the tasting menu. Naturally we ended up buying multiple bottles of the sparkling as well as some of the wines we tried during the tasting. This is a must visit but be sure to leave plenty of time to enjoy the experience...and views!
